This partnership will help in creating best in-class tactical research, advisory services and management solutions for institutional investors.
Waverly and Forefactor now deliver a Macro Playbook: A research tool distributed daily which focuses on global macro themes and short-term price structure. It is sent via email to subscribers in PDF form. Support or questions on the content of the Playbook and the underlying model should be directed to Waverly Advisors.
Recently, a monthly report entitled “Market Perspective” was launched by Waverly. This provides a view into the longer-term perspective for the primary markets that they follow and illustrates the quantitative and macroeconomic research that Waverly perform to arrive at their conclusions. The report is also available as a PDF to subscribers.
Forefactor and Waverly are planning to launch a Canadian equity research product for US based Institutional Investors in the second quarter.

Waverly have provided a Portfolio Overview.
The report breaks out into three sections:
- An overview of the volatility/option broad-based market. This is provided as a backdrop to help our clients understand what other investors are doing and identify trends that can help in the investment and risk management processes.
- The output from a detailed review of the portfolio, sorted by our WV Score. The WV Score is a proprietary metric Waverly has developed that rates underlying securities in terms of attractiveness as covered call candidates. We don’t believe that a purely algorithmic approach is appropriate, but rather an approach that incorporates our work with our client’s biases (where appropriate) will yield superior results. The score serves as a screen to help Waverly identify potential option candidates and combines volatility and price metrics with Waverly’s tactical research views. We review opportunities for each equity in the portfolio with a score ranking above 2 on a 0-4 scale.
- Detailed recommendations on specific companies we think are compelling candidates (covered calls in this case). This section provides more detailed information on why we believe a specific security is a candidate and what options we believe provide the most value.
